New French Restaurant Opens on Penn
Brother to other Big Y Group creations Seviche, Nola on the Square, Poros, and Perlé, Le Lyonnais is acclaimed chef and restaurateur Yves Carreau’s newest concept. The restaurant, which opened on April 25, serves French comfort food inspired by Carreau’s background in Lyon, France.
“Our concept is one of simple, affordable, yet delicious dishes inspired by time honored recipes from my hometown of Lyon, some of which have been in my family for generations,” Carreau said.
For lunch at Le Lyonnais, choices include onion soupe gratinée with veal stock, gruyere swiss, and garlic croutons, baguette bourguignonne served with parmesan white truffle fries, and quiche du jour. Dinner entrees include seitan vol-au-vent, which is a puff pastry with mushrooms, spinach, butternut squash, and curried coconut cream, and steak au poivre, featuring hanger steak, a peppercorn sauce, salade verte, and parmesan white truffle fries.
For a sweet finish at Le Lyonnais, options include daily choices of macarons and sorbet, nutella crepes with banana and rum salsa and hazelnut ice cream, and Grand Marnier crème brulée.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner during the week and dinner on Saturdays. Be sure to head down to Le Lyonnais at 947 Penn Avenue to get a taste of France. To make reservations, click here or call (412) 697-1336.
